I’m considering pursuing a career in wedding planning, but I wouldn’t be in a huge city. Do they charge a pecentage of the wedding cost? How many weddings do they do per year?

2000 to 10000 and up.
It will take time to develop a name for your self so best to charge low it first. If you are good word will spread.
(it’s a lot of headache!)

A wedding planner either charges a percentage of the entire wedding, or a flat fee. Said flat fee is NOT separate from the budget, as the wedding planner’s job is to save the couple money. The weddings they do per year varies, as weddings are "seasonal."
